Teenagers. If there is one thing I remember from not so long ago being a teenager myself it’s that I was always bored. Always, always. No matter what there was to actually do, or see, or play – I was bored. It wasn’t until my family bought a computer that I stopped constantly complaining about being bored and spending all of my time online.
This isn’t something I want for my kids. Jordan who just recently turned 13 is a master behind a keyboard. He could spend hours playing games online with his friends, or skyping with them. I can ask him about computer lingo, and if I have an issue with something I probably knew back when I was 16 and can’t remember – Jordan knows.
Well, that is all fine and good except I really don’t want him spending all of his time in his room on his computer, with his headphones on or yelling at games. I want him getting back out and about with his friends, and using his imagination even if it isn’t the coolest thing to do anymore. He’s really smart, and likes hands on things so I knew he would enjoy the Vex Robotics Zip Flyer.
The VEX Robotics Zip Flyer is a bit of a challenge to put together. My husband had a hard time — now I don’t know if that’s just because isn’t the type to sit and put things with little pieces together, but it took him a while and he seemed to get a bit upset that it was taking so long. So, if you aren’t too handy or into putting things together with little pieces – be warned!
Getting kids outside and to use their imagination isn’t that tough when you have something like the VEX Robotics Zip Flyer though. Jordan and Jayden have been spending some quality brother time together so we’ll be grabbing another one as well!
It’s really fun, and when not in use it looks great sitting up on a shelf.
