This past Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the pre-screening of guardians of the galaxy volume 2. I wasn’t exactly too sure if what to expect when I got to the theater, but within minutes of the lights going down, I knew that this was going to be a movie worth watching more than once.
I won’t spoil it for you because it’s a film you must, but let’s start with the fact that it was in 3D! Now I haven’t been to a 3D movie in years upon years, and I have to tell you, 3D sure isn’t what it used to be! Once the glasses were on, it felt like I was standing side by side with baby Groot, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora and Rocket… amazing!
When I was researching the movie before I went to the screening, I was totally expecting a straight up action adventure with really great graphics. What I got when I started to watch the movie was absolute hilarity from the cuteness of baby Groot to the incredible one-liners from Drax. (Vin Diesel is Groot, and Dave Bautista is Drax). From the start of the movie right up until the final credits, this film is off the charts comical while being action packed! I, unfortunately, was not able to bring any of the kids to the screening but you’d better believe that we will be heading back to the theater to see this delightful gem of a movie asap! Keep in mind, It is rated PG-13 which I think is right on the money. I will be making sure my older kids enjoy it until the others are old enough – but they’d love it too.
We’ve touched on the genre and astounding visuals of the movie and me not being one to really like to spoil movies, let’s just say that from Kurt Russell giving another stellar performance as Peter Quil’s father to the fireworks in the sky cameoed by none other than Sylvester Stallone, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is going to be a favourite in my house for a long time to come! I wish you all the very best of times watching this fantastic movie and hope you find it as funny and amazing as this guy did!
