Have you ever asked your children what they want to be when they grow up? Recently I asked this question again and my one daughter said, “a blogger! like you!” and then she turned to me and said, “but how do you even start mom?” well technology is a wonderful thing. The tools are endless, and the way technology is and evolves constantly changes. I remember when I was 11 and we got our first computer my mom could barely type, she used the one finger at a time – so I had to teach myself everything I now know. I learned coding at 12 and how to step up my first blog. I learned how to design and do html/css. It was tricky, but I wish I had someone with a little bit of know around me!
The #CSTLearningProject Twitter Party will help us be able to help our children prepare for the future!
Technology is always changing, and newer models of this and that are always coming out. If you asked me 3 years ago when I decided to start Six Time Mommy if I’d ever think I’d do something with it I’d have laughed at you. I never thought I’d be able to be a stay at home mom, doing something I love and adore while making money and being able to be with my kids. Never.
So, while I encourage my kids to go to college and try their hand at a career of their very own, they may be a stay at home parent who wants to make an extra income, or they may just want to do something on the computer like mom and I’d like to be able to help them prepare for their future! Who knows what jobs of tomorrow will bring, the future is anyones guess but I know technology will play a big part of the future!
I don’t attend parties, the only parties I attend anymore are twitter parties! Not only can I be in my pjs if I want to be, but I can stay home in my comfy house and take part in all the fun! Will you be joining?
CST Learning Project Competition
Our friends over at CST get this. They just launched their annual CST Learning Project competition which funds new learning activities for children with $250,000 up for grabs. (They take the future seriously). It’s part of their cool Inspired Minds program that also includes Careers 2030—a deep dive into the possible careers our kids will have. (Robot Counsellor? Data Miner? Rewilder?)
