Some would look at our family and assume the journey into motherhood for me must be so quick, easy, and simple. I must be fertile, and my husband must just look at me, and I get pregnant. Well, that assumption would be 110% wrong. I’ve had people tell me how fertile I must be, or ask if we know how babies are made. Of course, we do and believe me; it hasn’t always been easy.
People always think you need to watch what you say in front of those who are dealing with infertility, and those people must be those who have no children but desperately long for them. This too is wrong. You need to watch what you say to any mother, and any parent. You don’t know their journey. You don’t know how they became parents or what struggles they had to deal with.
Seven. I have seven babies yes. But, what you may not know is that I have been pregnant ten times. I’ve lost three babies. Two of those babies were lost before I got pregnant with Hanna. First Response™ helped me with that. I was able to keep track of my cycle using the First Response Advanced Digital Ovulation Tests It’s easy to use and indicates your most fertile days based on your unique hormone levels- which was super helpful as this is something unique for every woman. They provided me with ease of mind, and because I’ve known and used First Response products for 14 years now, I knew I could trust what the tests told me and my body and it would be accurate.
With Hanna, it was a struggle we didn’t want to try again after we had miscarried a baby in early November, but I decided to track my ovulation anyways. I took a test on the 28th of November just three weeks after the bleeding had stopped for my miscarriage and it said YES! We decided to try one time just for fun because the test told us I would be ovulating within 24-36 hours so that night we tried. Two weeks later I felt very odd. Just exhausted and although I was still nursing Justin at the time, my breasts were sore, and they hadn’t been the whole time. So, of course, I dropped my kids off at school and ran to the store , where I got a pack of two First Response Early Result Pregnancy Tests. They are convenient, easy to use and can detect the typical pregnancy hormone 6 days sooner than a woman’s missed period! These are the most trusted tests in the TTC (trying to conceive) community (in my opinion). I took the test, and within a few seconds, there was the second line. It was faint, but it was there.
I waited a few days and took the 2nd one, and the test line was darker. We were thrilled, nervous, excited and I was very much terrified. After two back-to-back miscarriages, it’s hard not to be. I went and bought another pack of two First Response Early Result Pregnancy tests and took them two days later, and then again two days after that. All got darker. I was still scared.
I started taking prenatal vitamins and went to my doctor right away to be started on progesterone supplements. Luckily the pregnancy stuck and was strong, and we now have Hanna here with us, who is such a joy in every single way.
As I mentioned, I started taking prenatal vitamins. These are hard for me when pregnant because I get pretty sick, and nauseated every single pregnancy without fail. It’s often bad. So I’d have to have my husband break the vitamins apart for me even to be able to take them. Even then, I’d gag. Sometimes I’d throw up trying to swallow them, and this isn’t good for anyone, definitely not the baby. So, of course, First Response has taken care of this for us with the launch of their new prenatal multivitamin. They are in a gummy format so very easy to take for women experiencing morning sickness or have trouble swallowing pills. Plus, they taste delicious!
If I were to have another child, due to my challenges with taking the normal pill pre-natal vitamins, I’d be turning to your trusted First Response brand and their Prenatal Gummies to ensure I’m getting the nutrients I need for mine and my baby’s health
