It’s time. It’s time to share with you guys a big decision I’ve made, now that Mia is ten months old, I’m not having any more babies and I’m not getting any younger!
I’ve decided to head out on a journey to be a better me and I decided I’m no longer dying my hair or taking advantage of my body, or treating it poorly and I’m going to start losing some of this baby weight I’ve packed on after 8 amazing pregnancies. I’ve decided it’s time to make a big change, and I’m excited to bring you on this journey. I’ve recently started using the Treadmill I got after having Hanna and never really used because, after eight babies, your body just isn’t the same. Besides the weather outside right now is anything but run-worthy. So, inside it is!
Making the decision to let my hair grow its natural color, which is now pure white and hues of grey was a decision I didn’t make lightly. It came with the decision that at 34 this year, and 8 babies I need to make sure I am taking care of my body to the best of my ability and making sure I am here, for the long haul for my children. Keeping bad toxins out, and exercising daily is extremely important on this journey to health for me so after my decision to not dye my hair anymore came the decision on how I’d tackle my daily exercise routine, and of course that comes with the big decision on gear: pants, tanks, and headphones! With so many people in the house there’s a couples thing I need while working out, and one of those things is being able to listen to my music while I walk, jog or run but also being able to hear my husband or kids if they need me. AfterShokz Trekz Air are the next generation of bone conduction technology. For the next few months, I will be working with them along with documenting my journey to share with you guys as I run for a better me.
AfterShokz? Bone Conduction Technology? What is that you ask? Bone conduction technology delivers music through your cheekbones, ensuring ears remain completely open to hearing ambient sounds.
AfterShokz Trekz are exactly what I need in a headphone. These headphones allow you to be aware of your surroundings while still doing the things you love the most! They are really easy to use, and set up.I know a lot of people want to wear headphones while they work out to drown out extra noise or the happenings around them but that isn’t the case for me. I like being able to hear what’s going on, and be in conversations if I want to be. Plus, do you know how hard it is to live in a house with nine other people and have a moment to yourself? It doesn’t happen, so these Aftershokz help me stay in the conversations and allow me to keep going instead of stopping constantly asking what people are saying!
AfterShokz are also extremely comfortable and stay in place while you move around, which is really important on a treadmill because you are constantly moving. The wrap around design of Aftershokz keep them in place and leaves them virtually unnoticeable to those not looking or focused right on them.AfterShokz are different because not only do they not go in your ear, but they also last a lot longer than any other headphone I’ve ever tried. Aftershokz have a six hour continuous music and calls on a single charge, and offer Audrey Says, a voice prompt, that guides users through power, pair, play and talk. Charge these headphones in two hours, and you’re ready to go!
I was also worried that all the running and walking would cause issues because of course with any physical activity you’ll sweat. AfterShokz repels sweat, dust, and moisture so you don’t have to worry about any sweat. They also work extremely well in different weather conditions. Making them pretty funcational and useful for any and all lifestyle situations.
I’ve had ear problems my whole life so wearing headphones inside my ears for long periods of time isn’t really an option for me. I can wear these no problem, and after a while can’t even feel them on me anymore making them comfortable and enjoyable to wear.
They also aren’t flimsy either. Something I know people worry about when it comes to headphones, you don’t want to be paying for headphones that aren’t sturdy and last long. The titanium design on Aftershokz gives a flexible fit, and stability that many other headphones often lack. What I was most surprised by was how easy they are to pair with your phone. While off, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator will flash blue and red repeatedly while in discovery. Enable the Bluetooth settings on your device and select “Trekz Air by AfterShokz”. The LED indicator will turn blue once connected, then you are set to go!
Looking for stylish, functional and stable headphones to take on your fitness journey? Or want to be able to listen to your favorite podcast but still be able to hear the happenings going on around you? The AfterShokz Trekz are perfect. For $189.95 – it’s a great deal that can’t be beat! I can’t wait to continue my journey, and even move outside once the weather allows to test these bad boys outside.
