Canadian Thanksgiving This Weekend | Free Turkey Day Kids (Pre-K – K) Printable Pack

This weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada (Happy Thanksgiving Fellow Canadians!) I am really excited to have our big turkey dinner! My husband cooks the best turkey, makes the best homemade stuffing and I just love having my kiddos home that extra day from school to spend time with them, watch a movie and eat really good food!

I thought it would be fun to share this pretty awesome Thanksgiving Printable Pack with you all! It’s best for Pre-K – Kinders, but my 6 year old had a blast coloring it and doing the puzzles too! So, I wouldn’t limit it too much, each child is different!

I’ve decided that this year I’m going to forget all the bad stuff that has been going on around me, because there’s been quite a few things happening and really focus on the good. What I’m thankful for, because let’s face it I do have a lot to be thankful for – however, upon checking my e-mail this morning I was reminded that I would be 18 weeks pregnant today which made me immediately upset. For those of you who don’t know I had a miscarriage back on July 17th which landed me in the hospital. It was a very hard time for me and took me quite a few weeks to fully feel myself again so instead of being sad today, beating myself up and wondering why, I’m going to be thankful it happened. Sounds bad, but let me explain — I have been very lucky and have gotten pregnant very quickly with all my other children. Things happen for a reason, I am very much a believer in that so although it was one of the hardest, saddest and heartbreaking times in my life I believe there was a reason for it.

Maybe the baby wasn’t going to be healthy, maybe it just wasn’t the right time. Who knows, but there is obviously a plan and I’m going to be thankful for what I do have, and what is to come because afterall, life isn’t about the what-ifs and all the terrible things that have happened to us, right? It’s about happiness, love, health and moving on. Which is what I plan to do.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all, and happy weekend to those who aren’t celebrating this weekend! What are YOU thankful for?

  1. Love all of these printables!! My little one loves doing mazes, so I am going to print that out for him.

  2. I have a neighbor with a toddler that is always complaining that she can’t keep the kid busy all day long. Going to forward this to her to give them something new to do today.

  3. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! I have to wait a while for the official Thanksgiving here but there’s no reason not to be thankful every day!

    1. I am looking forward to our Thanksgiving too, but you are right. We should also be thankful in the days leading up to, as well as after the holiday :)

  4. These are great things to be thankful for. I am also thankful for all these things! You have a great outlook on life and I am with you on loosing a baby, stuff like that sometimes put things in perspective. Thank you for sharing this.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your lovely family! I love the printables- we are finally at an age where Addie “gets” holiday crafts and art projects. I am thankful for motherhood, and awesome ladies like you, paving the way!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving! I was just having lunch with someone in town from Canada on a business trip and they mentioned this! Enjoy the holiday!

  7. Happy Thanksgiving (a little early!) So sorry to hear of your loss, but it’s lovely to know that you are finding a lot to be thankful for. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family :)

  8. I am thankful for all the great opportunities that my family has been presented with this year. My husband got a new job, I have been able to travel with my job, and my kiddos have been thriving in school and in after school activities.

  9. I’m sorry the email jarred you, but happy you put a positive twist on it. Wishing you so much happy and sending over a hug from me too.

  10. I get really sad that so many holidays have turned into Hallmark Holidays. I am thankful for things like that which teach kids and adults that we should be thankful for things not just on the holiday, but all the time.

  11. Thanks for reminding us that, even if there’s some parts of your life not going well, you should recognize and cherish the good parts! There really is a lot we have to be thankful for!

  12. These printables are awesome, I am going to print them for my niece. Next month for our Thanksgiving my family will be over and my niece is always bored with all the adults, so she will enjoy them.
