Did you know this Friday, September 9th is National Teddy Bear day? Well, it’s true! What a fun day, who doesn’t love teddy bears?

National Teddy Bear Day is observed annually on September 9th. We have all had a special cuddly teddy as a child. Some of us still have our teddy bear from our childhood. Whether or not you still have your childhood teddy, today is the perfect day to celebrate your childhood friend! – source

One of my favourite things as a child was my teddy bears! I used to have teddy bear hammocks hanging in the corners of my wall in my bedroom full of teddy bears! All of the had names, and special meanings! I saved a lot of them for my kids and I know my kids adore all their teddy bears too so we will be doing something special for National Teddy Bear day! How will you celebrate?

On National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A-Bear Workshop stores nationwide will celebrate the beloved teddy bear by offering guests a chance to make select bears, including a new commemorative bear, for just $5!

This year marks the first time the brand has created a commemorative furry friend in honor of National Teddy Bear Day. And, in the spirit of the company’s mission to “add a little more heart to life,” for every $5 bear purchased in Canadian stores on Sept. 9, Build-A-Bear Workshop will donate one to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada — a one-to-one match donation — up to 1,000 furry friends.

Build-A-Bear will celebrate its 20th birthday in 2017, and 2016’s National Teddy Bear Day marks the kick-off of more than a year of celebrations.

  1. We have about five build a bears in our house! We love how you can personalize them and give them special hearts! This is definitely my most favorite holiday!

  2. What a fun day to celebrate, especially by creating a new furry friend. My daughter is twelve and still sleeps with the Build A Bear she made for her fourth birthday.

  3. My girls used to love going to Build A Bear. That $5 deal is fantastic, and even more so since they’ll be donating another for each one purchased. Win-Win!

  4. I’ve always loved Build-a-Bear. We don’t have one in our hometown so my kids would often get them when we traveled. They’re grown now, but they each have their very first build-a-bear tucked away in safe keeping.

  5. What a sweet way to make a new friend and help a child in need receive one of their own. My kids have a,ways had a blast at Build-A-Bear, so they’ll love an opportunity to go back on Teddy Bear Day.

  6. It is funny, I am a grown woman that would love to visit build-a-bear. What a nice charity, because there is nothing like a cozy teddy bear to make us feel better. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I think it’s awesome that we have a day to celebrate teddy bears! They are the absolute cutest! it sure sounds fun to build your own teddy bear and it’s nice that it also gives one to kids in need.

  8. i haven’t been to a Build a Bear in such a long time. My son would lOVE it though, and he’s at that age where he’s about to outgrow it, so I should def, be taking him now.
