On September 23 Fall arrives! Big huge cheers from me! Right now in Toronto the mornings already feel like Fall is in full swing. I don’t mind because Spring and Fall are my two very favorite seasons. I can’t stand heat, and I can’t stand the cold so the two seasons of in between are my favorites!
I thought it would be fun this Fall to try something new with my kids to make it a little more fun to put away those Summer clothes and bring out the cooler weather clothes. What could be more fun than that? I love it, but they sadly do not.
I think it would be really fun to make Fall Baskets! You can fill them with just about anything you want to, and the kids? If they are anything like mine they’d love the fact they can help make them but also love what comes inside them too! Makes them extra special!
- Burpee Seed Starting Fiber Pots (3″ square)
- Orange and yellow baker’s twine
- Green shredded paper
Step 1: Wrap the orange twine around the basket in various directions (as shown) and tie in a tight knot in the back.
Step 2: Repeat Steep 1 with yellow twine so that the strings are layered on the pot and tied on the same side (as shown).
Step 3: Use scissors to trim the bakers twine if needed.
Step 4: Add shredded paper and treats!
- Fun Straws
- Playing Cards
- Small Toys
- Vampire teeth
- Lip balm
- Glow sticks
- Gum and candy
- Packets of hot cocoa
*These baskets are also fun to fill with popcorn and popcorn balls!
Don’t these look like fun? What would you put in your basket?
