DIY Mini Noise Makers – Perfect for the Sports Fan in You

mininoisetitleFootball fans! Soccer fans! All sports fans! This is a DIY project for you!

I’m the type of mom who loves going to watch my kids and their sporting teams/events and I like to show my support. I’m not the loudest, but let me tell you – everyone knows who my kids are!

I love cheering them on and making sure they hear me. I love watching my little one score and be so proud they do a little dance. I love that they can hear me cheering them on, and being so proud of them doing their best. I love it. I know so many other parents who do too. Which is why I’m sharing this with you today.

DIY Mini Noise Makers. Perfect for football games, soccer games, baseball games – pretty much any sporting event you could think of; these would be perfect to bring and show your support!

Supplies:

  • Plastic cups (I used 4 oz)
  • Dry beans
  • Hot glue gun
  • Electrical tape (or tape that matches your team’s colors)
  • Spray paint and ribbon in your team’s colors

mininoisemaker4Directions:

Spray paint cups with your desired colors and allow them to dry completely. In the meantime, cut strips of ribbon about 8 inches long, 2 of each color for a total of 4 per shaker. Take one ribbon of each color and tie them together in the middle with a knot. When the cups are dry, pour a tablespoon or two of dry beans into a cup. Put 4 hot glue drops around the edge of one cup, then place the coordinating color on top. This will help hold the cups together while you tape them. After taping, use the hot glue again to attach the ribbons at each end, using the knot for an anchor. Now you’re ready to cheer on your favorite team!

noisemakerlastWhat do you think? Are you the cheering type or more the strong silent type when it comes to sporting events?

My kiddos aren’t in sports right now but once Spring comes back around the boys want to get back into soccer and my girls into dance, and gymnastics! Hoping the girls want to get into soccer, or something else as well as they’ve talked about it quite often! I couldn’t imagine taking these noise makers to cheer on dance or gymnastics. Although, I just may!

What is your favorite sport that you like to cheer on?

Thanks for sharing this. My family and I (especially my niece) love watching college sports. Would you believe that 90% of my family all earned our degrees from the same university? That’s how strong our bond is when we watch college basketball. I’ll make one each for every member of the family who will watch the games live on Wednesday! Oh how fun!!!
