Dollar Tree Canada Haul: Items You Don’t Expect to Find at Dollar Tree May 2018

I have decided to start a new series here on the blog – Dollar Tree Canada Hauls! I recently discovered that we have Dollar Tree in Canada. I know, how silly I didn’t know before right? I’ve known about a year now but it wasn’t until we moved to a smaller city that I started going to the Dollar Tree often and really starting to like it.

It’s become one of my all-time favourite stores. It’s weird, you’d never think someones favourite store would be Dollar Tree but it’s true – I could spend hours in there and hundreds of dollars. While this month I chose mostly decor items, I plan to do different types of hauls monthly.

If you haven’t been to Dollar Tree Canada before I suggest finding one immediately and taking a look. There are so many amazing items you can find, that don’t scream dollar store. Which is why I am really excited about this new series. Every month I’ll be sharing some amazing finds I find at the Dollar Tree – This month, I think blew me away. I love everything I picked up and I’ll be able to make use of every single thing.

Now, tell me do these scream Dollar Store to you? Here’s what I am hauling for May 2018!This month my goal was decor. I want to change up things in my living room and start moving my office space to a new room and create the office I’ve been wanting for a long time. I was impressed with everything I was able to get a $1.25 each! These are probably my favourite find of all things. I believe they are intended for candles but I plan to use them for my desk in my office. They’ll hold pens, pencils, markers, etc! They are super cute and I’ve seen a lot of people use them for make up brushes and things like that. I don’t do make up brushes so these will find a home on my desk in my office! I cannot wait, aren’t they so pretty? How cute are these? I’ve seen these in Walmart and even Marshall’s. I got each of these for $1.25 each and they go perfectly with candle holds that look like the one on the right I have displayed in my home. I paid $29.99 for those. I love when I can find matching pieces to things I already have, and at $1.25 you can’t beat that! How cute is this dog? I am hoping I can find more, as I’d love to find some more animals like this because if you know me you know I love animals and these are SO cute.I am a huge fan of white. So when I saw these white candle holders, and the shape they were I had to scoop them up. They are super cute and I need all the candle holders I can get for my tea lights. Super cute, and trendy for $1.25ea!These little macaron trinket holders are super popular within the Dollar Tree world. I was only able to find these two. But there are two more colours  – Pink and a green. I saw them at another Dollar Tree so I’ll have to drop in and pick them up because I now need the whole collection!Jewelry holder! Isn’t it so pretty? My wedding rings can sometimes be “too tight” when I have swelling during pregnancy, and sometimes after. They had a few different types: praying hands, and some other shape but I loved the feather. Great find for $1.25!How cute are these candle holders? I am a huge fan of candles and like I mentioned above I need all the tea light holders I can get as I have hundreds of them, and they are great for power outages. I thought these were adorable, and again $1.25ea you cannot beat it! The front says “Home Made”I was looking for a little pop of colour and I found it! How gorgeous are these? I had no idea what they were when I picked them up, but I have them displayed on a shelf in my living room and they look gorgeous and so colourful. Super cute for multiple things including DIY’s or just to sit on a shelf.I saw these room spray air fresheners and I wanted to try them because not only do they look adorable but the scents look really interesting. I only like the Coconut one, so I will be going back to grab some more of them – but the other ones I could do without. Some more air fresheners, they look like soap! These will hang in a bathroom, closet or my new office. They smell really good but again that Coconut is my favourite. Will be grabbing a few more of these too! I love how they look and will go with other decor in my office so I am thinking that is where I will have them hanging!

Now in the US Dollar Tree items are $1 but here in Canada it’s $1.25 still a killer deal. Other Dollar Stores here range from $1.25-$4 so it’s not really a Dollar Store anymore. I also find the quality at the other Dollar Stores aren’t good, at all. I’d rather not waste my money. The items at Dollar Tree on the other hand are excellent. Some things you’d probably want to avoid like many stores, but for the most part Dollar Tree has some amazing finds.

I am excited about doing this series and sharing what great items I find. As a family of 10 the Dollar Tree is a great place to not only find decor but it’s also a great place to grab school supplies, kitchen supplies, outdoor fun and even some groceries — Yes! Although the US has way more food items (and even freezer items!) our Dollar Trees here in Canada do have snack food items and things to fill your pantry. At just $1.25 per item (and sometimes I’ve found things for .50!) you can’t beat that!
