Homemade Chocolate Flower Bites Recipe – Perfect for an Easter Treat!

by

eggs1I used to go all out for Easter and my kids, but then I realized they don’t need all that junk. Most of it ended up in my belly, or in the garbage or sitting up in a cupboard for months because I limit the candy, sugar and chocolate my kids get. So I finally decided it was time to go basic.

I like to put 1 small chocolate bunny in their baskets, a couple of those little easter eggs and the rest is fun, and for play.

My kids get: Playdough, Books, Coloring books, Pencils, Crayons, Bubbles, Skipping ropes/cars, puzzles, slinkies, flash cards, and fun little trinkets they can play with or read.

When I was growing up I was able to pick 1 item (a dvd, skipping rope, jacket, tickets to something, a gift card, etc) and the rest was chocolate. I loved it at the time but I wasn’t a huge junk food freak like I am now. So, I try to avoid this with my kids. I make treats for the weekend, of course and again I usually end up eating most of it with my husband – but for the actual baskets, I’m pretty strict now.

I plan to make their main treat in their basket this year, and these flowers are exactly what I envisioned.

eggs2Ingredients Needed:

  • Wilton white chocolate melting candy
  • Pastel M&M’s
  • Vanilla extract
  • Small silicone flower mold

Directions:

  1. Using a microwave safe bowl, microwave your Wilton chocolate melts on 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted
  2. Add in a half tablespoon of vanilla extract and mix
  3. Place your Eminem in the bottom of the silicon flower mold
  4. Now pour your melted white chocolate on top of the M&M’s until full
  5. Set in the fridge for 20 minutes or until hardened
  6. Pop your chocolates out by pressing up on the bottom of the mold and stretching the sides

  1. What a cute snack. I am assigned to bring desserts to Easter dinner at my parent’s house this Sunday, so I should make these to bring :)

  2. I just bought all the ingredients to make homemade chocolate flowers to top a pie I’m posting on Monday. I do hope mine turn out as pretty as yours did. I love how you used the M&M’s to form the pedals. So pretty! I can only imagine how tasty they are.

  3. Such an easy and fun recipe with only 4 ingredients! We have a big family gathering for Easter. I’ll be cooking quite a few dishes. I’d like to add these in as a surprise.

  4. This looks so cute and so easy to make. Im making chocolates with my kids this weekend and we may have to include this.

  5. So cute, love it! An easy recipe to follow and make. I would so include my kids so they can pick how they want there treat to be.

  6. These look so adorable and I’m sure taste absolutely delicious. I hope that I can find a flower mold before Easter Sunday as I would love to make this for my Family that is coming over.

  7. I think it is smart to eliminate going overboard on junk. I do a mix of treats and non-treats too. Although admittedly I do still go a little too heavy on the chocolate.

  8. I totally agree with you but are you sure the kids don’t need all that junk maybe just a couple treats and that’s it. If your blog is based on how many kids you have your super busy I don’t know how you do all this LOL
