With Valentine’s Day right around the corner the first thing I wanted to do was get the cards in order. Kyla and Ava are back to doing homeschooling, they are doing online schooling so they don’t need them but Jackson and Jayden will still want to give out cards.
I wanted to do something fun and creative so I went to the dollar store to see what I could find to use and I had a plan to do a printable as well, but wanted to do something fun with it. I saw these little maze toys and thought they’d be perfect so I grabbed just 1 package (it came with 6) to see if I would be able to do what I wanted to do.
I was! They look super cute. I had to do the card a few times, different ways to see what I really wanted but am pretty pleased with the end results.
Jackson is really excited to give them out to his classmates, and he cannot wait to play with the maze (he had me make him a few for himself too!)
I bought some card stock paper at Walmart ($12.97 for 100) to make sure they’d be sturdy enough to hold the little mazes, and I used sticky dots (pop-dot adhesives at $1.97 for 264) and sat down to design them.
I wanted simple and gender neutral. I didn’t want Jackson thinking they were too girly, and I didn’t want girls thinking they were too boyish. I think I accomplished exactly what I wanted to do with them because they look super cute.
I’m so excited to be able to do printables that I did another card that I will be sharing next week! It too is gender neutral and cute. Using card stock and glow sticks. Its fun.
I hate spending so much money on cards that don’t offer anything — I also don’t like giving out candy, so this was the perfect alternative and I think kids will get a kick out of them.
