Did you know today is World Prematurity Day? It’s a day to bring awareness and share our stories about the babies born a little early. I as a mom have been fortunate. As a mom of 7 plus one more on the way, I have not had a genuinely premature baby (fingers crossed for this little girl as well!). Justin was born at 36 weeks gestation which is considered a preemie, but he was over 7lbs with zero health concerns and didn’t need a NICU stay at all. I know quite a few parents who have had premature babies who have had short and even extensive stays in the NICU. It’s heartbreaking, emotional, stressful and can cause a lot of stress and hardships.

When Hanna was born in August 2016, she did have a short but incredibly emotional (for me) NICU stay for just over 30 hours due to her blood sugar levels, and it opened my eyes up to not only how amazing NICU nurses are but just how amazing hospitals and preemies are. A baby born just over 30 weeks gestation was wheeled by me as I was walking down the hall after a short rest to go nurse Hanna. This baby was so tiny, the NICU nurse said just under 2lbs. Not only was this something I had never seen before, but it was amazing to me just how tiny and delicate some of these babies in the NICU are and just how vital it is to have the proper equipment and even accessories for these babies.

One thing is for certain, Huggies is the #1 choice of Canadian Hospitals. The brand works with NICU nurses and neonatal therapists to develop specially designed diapers that help provide skin protection for premature infants (up to 2lbs.) like the Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers.

Above is a photo of a Huggies Little Snugglers Newborn-sized diaper and beside it is a Huggies Little Snugglers Nano-Preemie Diaper. The difference is astounding. I never really thought a baby could fit into these diapers, but they do, and it’s essential they get them.

Every Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diaper goes through a rigorous inspection process, including a 40-point hand inspection, and individual folding and hand-packaging and fulfills Huggies’ No Baby Unhugged promise to ensure all babies get the care they need to thrive as it’s specially-designed to promote healthy growth and development, while protecting the delicate skin of the most fragile babies.

The #NoBabyUnhugged Initiative helps to ensure all babies get the care they need to thrive. These Huggies Little Snugglers Nano-Preemie Diapers for babies up to 2lbs not only bring comfort to babies but also the parents who are with their little champs in the NICU and can see a diaper fitting their baby snug and comfortable.

Also essential for these delicate babies are Huggies Natural Care Extra Sensitive Wipes, available exclusively in select NICUs . These wipes are the first and only wipe developed specifically for fragile premature skin and have been developed in partnership with NICU nurses.

Parents have enough to worry about during their little ones stay in the NICU. They shouldn’t have to worry about things such as diapers and wipes, and luckily Huggies makes sure that isn’t a worry with these amazing Huggies Little Snugglers Nano-Preemie diapers and Huggies Natural Care Extra Sensitive Wipes.

Huggies #NoBabyUnhugged Initiative

If you have been a reader for a while, you will know I am part of the Huggies #NoBabyUnhugged Ambassador program. This is the most important ambassadorship to date for me, and I am incredibly honoured to be chosen to be part of this beautiful group. The #NoBabyUnhuggied initiative is something I firmly believe in.

#NoBabyUnhugged is a Huggies initiative to help all moms understand and embrace the power of hugs. And to help all babies get the hugs they need, even when moms can’t be there to give them, Huggies is funding and facilitating hugging programs in Canadian hospitals.

You can show your support for the #NoBabyUnhugged initiative online and receive a FREE pack of Huggies diapers in return. And if you share your hug photo, Huggies will donate $5 to #NoBabyUnhugged to ensure all babies get the hugs they need. Talk about a fantastic, and a great way to lend your support!

I love Huggies anyways, but now I love them even more. My nephew was a preemie and in the NICU for 2 weeks. It was SO stressful, but he’s all caught up on all his milestones now :)

My neighbor’s grandchild was born at 26 weeks. It’s so amazing that we have NICUs and that they are equipped to help these tiny babies that are born prematurely. #nobabyunhugged sounds like a great initiative.

I love this! It’s hard enough to have your sweet little bundle in the NICU. Anything that can make things easier helps that family in a small way.

Oh gosh that diaper is so tiny. That’s so awesome that they help out in nicu. I tend to always buy diapers whenever I visit someone with a new little one.

Happy World Premature Day! Little blessings they are! I have a friend who has a daughter theat’s been in NICU for a while. She’s almost out of the woods. Thank you, Huggies, for your continued support of these little miracles and the NICU wards!

Finally, a company that cares about the preemies! It’s not easy to look for products like this and I’m glad that huggies took that leap forward to make diapers for preemies. It’s really going to make life easier.

Oh, the diapers are so teeny. What a wonderful way for a brand to spread awareness. My best friend’s twin girls were born premature and spent about a week in the nicu.

Look at the size of those diapers! I know so many people who have had a baby in the NICU at some point and it really opens your eyes.

I have always liked huggies for both of my babies, and now I think I have even more respect for the brand. Doing something for the NICU babies is something I think is so sweet and amazing. I love hearing when companies do good in the world.

Those diapers are tiny. Both my daughters were two weeks past their due dates when they finally arrived but it’s always amazing to hear about babies thriving that were born extremely prematurely.

What a beautiful video and I cannot believe how tiny that diaper is! My daughter was in the NICU so I remember this all too well!

As a mother of a premature baby (now almost 5 years old), it fills my heart with happiness and gratitude for all those who made our tumultuous time in the NICU that much easier. Bravo to Huggies.

It’s hard to imagine a baby could wear such a tiny diaper. It’s so great that Huggies makes diapers even for the smallest of babies who need all the extra love and care they can get, and has created such an amazing program to support families at such a scary time.

Once I think things can’t be thought of, something new always comes along, and this is acutally a really good idea! I’m so happy for this program for sure!

Wow…the small size is amazing. So thankful for Huggies to make those sizes! What a great program. I had twins but luckily went all the way to full term.
