I know I have talked a few times on here about my youngest little one Hanna, having to be in the NICU for just over 30 hours the morning after her birth. It was nomething that hit me really hard when dealing with it and I had a little bit of a break down about it — but was it that bad? No. She was big (8lbs 4oz) she was long 21inches, and she was 110% healthy. She just had low blood sugar due to my gestational diabetes, so was it that bad? No.
While Hanna was there I spent a lot of time in the NICU with her and was able to actually witness a baby born 13 weeks premature be transferred over to our NICU. I’ll never forget walking out of the NICU to go down to the bathroom and the ambulance personnel wheeling this little wee girl by my son and I. We both looked at each other in shock at how tiny she was. She was oh so small. Back when I had Ava in August of 2007 my dear friend Wanda had her little girl 9 weeks early and she too was in the NICU she weighed 3lbs 10oz and at the time I had never seen a baby smaller, I couldn’t imagine a baby smaller. Until August 2016 when the little girl was wheeled by me.
Something you don’t often think about is what do these babies wear for diapers? Newborn diapers are super tiny, yes, but these babies that weigh 2lb and under what do they wear? I found the NB were a little bit big on Hanna and she was 8lbs 4oz at 2 weeks early. What about those born way too soon, what will fit them? I had no idea until I partnered with Huggies and learned about all the amazing they do with NICUs.
Huggies just released Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers, today! These diapers are for babies up to 2lbs. UP TO 2LBS. Small, right? I don’t tink I was really prepared when I opened the box just how small they really were.
Although nobody plans for a preterm baby, it happens. Thankfully today, the NICU’s are pretty amazing and babies that do come preterm receive the best possible care. Huggies knows that and wants to help. The Little Snugglers Nano Preemie diapers are just what these babies and NICUs need. Little Snugglers Nano Preemie diapers are developed in partnership with NICU nurses and every Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diaper goes through a rigorous inspection process, including a 40-point hand inspection, and individual folding and hand-packaging.
Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers:

The soft, smooth liner and gentle leg gather that provides leakage protection without irritating fragile, underdeveloped skin.
I decided to take a photo to see how different they are from Hanna’s diapers and again, I wasn’t prepared for how small they are. It takes 4 Nano Preemie diapers to make the size of Hanna’s size 3 diapers she is currently in at 19lbs. Can you imagine the difference these Nano Preemie diapers will be to the NICU and babies born before term?
Amazing. The details, and craftsmanship that went into these diapers are incredible. Nano Preemie diapers are Hypoallergenic, Fragrance-Free and free of Natural Rubber Latex perfect for those fragile babies with such delicate and fragile skin.
I think these are just incredible and will be so welcomed in the NICU. I know as a mom I didn’t have nearly as much to worry about as other moms in the NICU so this is just one extra thing they no longer have to worry about. Huggies did a wonderful thing.
