With Easter this weekend it’s time to get creative and figure out how to do our own things at home. Can’t go to the store to grab things to fill baskets with so what else can we do? This fun Make At Home Easter Treat Jars are a great alternative! I know a lot of people aren’t even thinking about holidays right now, but I want to make sure I’m keeping some things normal in our house, it’s a lot for everyone right now and even just a fun little family celebration with those of us living in our house could be a lot of fun for everyone, and our hearts right now.
Aren’t they cute? Every year, except for 2018, it’s been the same. We fill baskets full of fun little trinkets, toss a few little chocolates in there and the kids wake up to their fun-filled baskets. This year? I can’t go into stores with my compromised immune system and this nasty virus on the loose so, we improvise! It’s not ideal, I get it and if you are lucky enough or able enough to pick up some things while out doing your necessities shop then you can do these Easter Treat Jars just for fun or even decoration at the Easter table!
If you are like us you probably have most of what you need already in your craft collection at home, if not, you can improvise and use pretty much anything to make these adorable treat jars.
Dollar Tree Easter Treat Jars – What you need:
- 2 plastic craft jars
- 2 foam bunny craft kits (or felt, construction paper, or even card stock!)
- Mini eggs
- Remove the lids from the jars and paint them white.
- Glue the pair of googly eyes to each jar, then attach the nose and mouth stickers.
- Fill the jars with Easter candy.
- Cut the ears off the foam bunny and attach the pink glitter stickers to each ear.
- Place the lid on top of each jar and glue the bunny ears to the back of the jar lids.
Easter became one of my favourite holidays when I gave birth to Mia on Easter Sunday in 2018. Although this year will be a little different I want to make sure my kids have a little sense of normalcy and give them little treats, plus maybe make a fun day out in the backyard. We can play games, use our backyard toys and just have fun as a family.
If you are in the same boat, and can’t make the Easter Treat Jars above because you just don’t have supplies – get creative. You’d be surprised what you have within your home that you can use, and the kids will absolutely love it!
