When it comes to reading we are big readers in our house! Our kids love to read, be creative, use their imaginations and getting new books is always a favourite in our house! During the Summer is no exception! We love getting new books, reading together and reading by ourselves. Sometimes the Summer can be really boring so having books on hand is always a top priority! This week, I am thrilled to share this new book with you, My Book of Beautiful Oops!

About My Book of Beautiful Oops!
A Scribble it, Smear it, Fold it, Tear it Journal for Young Artists
MY BOOK OF BEAUTIFUL OOPS! is a hands-on journal that’s designed to help young hands and minds turn an “oops” into art. The friendly green alligator—familiar to readers of Beautiful Oops!—prompts the reader to imagine the possibilities of a bent page. Decorate a smudge. Play with splats and spills. Even complete a poem that was accidentally ripped in half.
Filled with folded, crumpled, die-cut, and lift-the-flap pages, the activities will challenge the reader’s sense of play as they draw in, paint on, tear up, smudge, and ultimately artistically wreck the book. MY BOOK OF BEAUTIFUL OOPS! champions imagination, play, and the courage to express oneself. It’s about self-forgiveness and about turning off that inner critic that clamors for perfection. And it’s about freedom—the freedom to be creative and follow curiosity wherever it goes. That’s a lesson to celebrate!
About the Author
Barney Saltzberg is the author of more than 30 books for children, including Beautiful Oops!, A Little Bit of Oomph!, Good Egg, and the bestselling Touch and Feel Kisses series. Additionally, he’s recorded four albums of songs for children. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, two dogs, and a pond full of fish.
My kids love this book not only for the fun, and beautiful artwork but because it’s more than just a book to read. This book lets kids fold pages, paint on, smudge and in a sense wreck the book. It’s really neat. When Jayden first got it and started to read it he was so worried, “Mom! It’s ripped!” I had to explain it to him! It’s a really fun book that is different and really gets kids attention.
My kids need some extra help with reading, so this got the little 3 really excited about that, and really wanting to sit down more with me and read!
Letting kids be creative, use their imagination and letting them do basically whatever they want in this book, letting them be free to just be – is really interesting to see what they come up with! I am for sure getting a few more copies of this book. Not only for my other kiddos but as gifts! It’s really awesome.
