Send the Kids on an Outdoor Adventure This Summer with YMCA Summer Day Camp!

Posted on May 29, 2018 in Kids/ Sponsored

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As always, opinions are all mine.

During the summer months kids tend to complain a lot about being bored! Back when we were kids we were outside all day and into the night until the street lights came on. I remember never being bored and always being outside exploring, riding my bike, going to the park, being with friends and the sleepovers. The sleepovers were the absolute best!

Nowadays, kids don’t get to experience summers like we do. With more parents working and things being quite expensive families are often left trying to find something to do, that kids will love and isn’t going to ruin their summer. Do you have a child between the ages of 4-16? If so, YMCA of Greater Toronto has a great alternative to being bored this summer with the YMCA Summer Day Camps!

There are so many camp options. No matter what your child is into there is something for everyone! One camp that looks like a great one for the outdoor lover is the Outdoor Adventure Camp!

Outdoor Adventure Camp

The Y offers lots of outdoor day camp options – Outdoor Adventure, Outdoor Living Skills, Hike and Bike, Paddle and Pedal and Multi Sports Day Camp.  These programs are offered at Milton Kelso, Goodwood Claremont, Hampton Enniskillen, Pickering Petticoat Creek, Richmond Hill Lake St. George, Cedar Glen, and Toronto Island!

Y Summer Day Camp is for everyone, and the Y offers 60+ various programs at 45 locations across the GTA to ensure we meet the needs and interests of all campers. Kids attending a Y Summer Day Camp will have new experiences, build new skills, and get a sense of community and lasting friendships— in rural and urban settings.

Not ready for sleep away camp? These camps are perfect as campers return home each evening! Also not too sure how to get your kids to/from? I can relate as we don’t drive – Busing and extended hours are available across the city to support your family’s busy schedule! Over 200 bus stops available across the GTA.

Programs range from creative arts and cooking, film making to science programs, swimming lessons, outdoor adventure and more!

My kids have some friends who go to the YMCA summer camps and those kids are always having fun. It is a great way to keep those kids off the screens this summer.

This sounds like a great idea for the kids. I love day camps as a way to dip the kids’ toes into the camp waters without throwing them into the deep end.

Day camp is where I went as a kid and where my kids went until last year. I think YMCA camp seems like a great idea to keep the kids occupied for the summer break.

See that’s my goal this year. Send my kids to camp! This sounds really great for kids of all ages, I’m looking to see if we have one here in SoCal.

So glad to see the YMCA is still doing summer camps. I sent my first son there many years ago. It was such fun for him.

I was thinking of possibly allowing my kids to join our local YMCA. I think it would be perfect to keep them busy!

This is really awesome! These activities will keep the kids busy during the summer and would help them get the physical exercise their body needs. I will have to check if they offer the same activities in the YMCA near our place.

These kids more than ever need outdoor activities to do while on summer break and get a break from smart devices. I did summer camps as a child and loved it!
