Pregnancy Update: 26 Weeks

I haven’t really written too much about my pregnancy thus far on the blog so I figured now would be a great time to share what has gone on so far to this point with me and how baby is doing!

First, I wanted to share this ultrasound of mine from back at 13 weeks. I’ve finally started a YouTube channel that I will be keeping up on and thought I’d share the video on there, as well as here. My 9 year old was told by the tech she could come over to the screen and video, so it’s a bit shaky! But, it’s a great video and you can see how big baby girl is and how long her little legs were already!

That was quite a few weeks ago as now I am 26 weeks, 2 days! I am feeling great other than the fact I’m battling an awful head cold right now, and I’ve had some trouble sleeping as of late, so I’m pretty exhausted. I’m trying to not complain too much though and just enjoy this miracle pregnancy as much as I can! Everyone keeps saying how fast it’s flying by but honestly, I feel like it’s dragging on the longest out of all my pregnancies – probably because I found out at just 3 weeks!

26 Week Update and Happenings:

How far along? 26 weeks, 2 days
How big is the peanut? the size of a turnip this week!
Total weight gain/loss? 22lbs gained to date
Maternity clothes? Maternity shirts as all other shirts even XL no longer fit the bump.
Sleep? I’m struggling. Super uncomfortable and baby moves so much.
Symptoms? Headaches, sore back and sore legs.
Food cravings? Chocolate, Grilled Cheese, Peanut butter and Yorkshire pudding.
Food aversions? Lemonade (i know its a drink!) and Eggs.
Gender? Still girl.
Labor signs? None. But lots of Braxton Hicks.
Belly button in or out? In, as always.

Things are going really great. I was so sick for the first 16 weeks of this pregnancy which made eating very difficult and gaining weight just wasn’t happening. I’ve gained 22lbs since March, which also isn’t that great but my body has just made up for the lack of food and appetite from the beginning.

I went to the doctors and took the glucose test although I declined with my last baby, the doctor wanted me to do it this time – and with my weight gain, I didn’t turn it down. It wasn’t as bad as what I remember from babies 1-4 but it was still awful.

Baby girl looks great. She’s measuring perfectly (although about 6 days a head in most of my ultrasounds) so it’s looking like she may be a decent size! I am trying to walk as much as I can, and drink as much water as I can which can be a challenge.

Baby sometimes gets into weird positions and when she gets wedged in my lower right or left side of my abdomen I am in severe pain. I mean, on the floor crying pain trying to roll around and move her. I’ve NEVER had this happen before so it’s making me wonder if she really is a bit bigger than we think! Only time will tell, and not much longer to go!
