Pregnancy Update: Week 36

36weeks

So much has gone on in the last two weeks. I haven’t posted since my 34 Week update. The day after that update I had my OB appt where I found out some news that really freaked me out. I was told the flow of blood from my placenta (SD Ratio) was elevated. Which could mean I could have baby that week, next week, this week or next week. I had to bump my BPP ultrasounds up to once a week now instead of every two, to not only check on growth of baby to make sure she isn’t growing too quickly due to the gestational diabetes but also to make sure the SD ratio flow would get better.

I went to my OB again this week, as now we are doing weekly appointments after my BPP ultrasound last Thursday and was told my flow went down from 3.7 to 2.2 so it’s getting better. HORRAH! Not only that but baby girl looks PERFECT. She was measuring a week ahead still, and had an estimated weight of 2563 grams = 5.650lbs.

It’s still a very scary thing to deal with. As issues like this can cause restrictions to baby such as lack of nutrition and oxygen. Talk about scary. I went again this past Thursday for another BPP – and didn’t get a phone call from my OB or sent to L&D by the ultrasound office so hopefully things are improving. Baby girl was now estimated at weighing 2986g = 6.583lbs and again was a whole week ahead in measurements!

One thing about these weekly BPP ultrasounds is getting to see her precious, chubby little face. I cannot get enough!

Ultrasound - 35w,3d!

Ultrasound – 35w,3d! Measuring 36w,1d….

My OB is away this week, so I don’t see her again until August 2nd however she assured me she will get my results and be watching and if there is any elevation or cause for concern I will get a call to go deliver right away.

Happy to say we’ve made it to 36 weeks as of today. I’m so happy we’ve made it this far. However, I did find out at my appointment last week GD patients don’t go until 40 weeks – they get induced a little sooner because of placenta issues and other factors, so we will be discussing that at my upcoming appointment August 2nd! If I don’t go into labour on my own that is… So that is a pretty exciting thought: A possible date!

36 WEEK PREGNANCY UPDATE AND HAPPENINGS:

How far along? 36 weeks today!
How big is the peanut? 6lbs 5oz so far!
Total weight gain/loss? Gained! Woohoo. Now at 28lbs gained.
Maternity clothes? Maxi dresses are what fit and feel comfy now.
Sleep? 1-2 hours a night if I’m lucky.
Symptoms? Braxton Hicks and LOTS and LOTS of peeing.
Food cravings? Homemade chicken pot pie, flavoured water.
Food aversions? Steak and Pork.
Gender? Still girl. :) saw it again this week!
Labor signs? None as of now, still contract when I walk too much though also we have breast leakage!
Belly button in or out? In, as always.

I head in again Thursday for another BPP ultrasound, then Friday is my Birthday! I’m looking forward to a good week ahead and hopefully no more stressful situations arise. I think I’m at the max for all of that.

GD is still being managed by diet. Saw my clinic again this week – it’s such a waste of time. I wait over an hour, sometimes 2 to be seen for 5 minutes by the nurse, and then less than a minute by the doctor. I’m so glad it’s done soon. I am sick of wasting my time and money (buses!) to go there for nothing! My blood sugar has been so well controlled, it’s been a non-issue.

Although I love being pregnant – this pregnancy has really taken a toll on me. My back and neck are sore 24/7 and at night I can barely walk from my lower back/butt/legs being in so much pain. Usually its my left leg, and its a pain to go up/down the stairs to pee so much at night. The end is so so so close and I for one, cannot wait!

THE END IS NEAR!
