We are in the middle of doing some things around our house – painting, moving things and replacing appliances. Right now, our main focus is our kitchen we just painted it and are starting to look into new appliances for it. Second, we will be focusing our time in our basement.
The people who lived in our house before tried to make this house a “Rooming” house by illegally putting a basement front door to our basement and putting in a 2nd kitchen. Having kids, we don’t want them having access to a kitchen in the basement so we have been closing it off but they are smart my little ones and tend to figure out how to get in. The oven is unplugged so it isn’t an issue, but we still want that area closed off. The older girls, Kyla and Ava’s bedrooms are down there too and we’ve been having issues keeping Jackson and Justin out of their rooms and touching their belongings. So, when Safety 1st contacted me to the partner I initially wanted to put the Safety 1st Ready to Install the gate at the tops of our basement stairs but because our house is an open concept, and because there is no doorway leading from the stairs up or down this caused an issue. Thankfully we realized we have the perfect spot, and I’m so glad I did because Hanna, Justin nor Jackson can figure out how to open it and it’s doing a tremendous job keeping them out of the area we don’t want them to be. I’ve tried many gates in my 15 years of being a mother and I can honestly say; this gate is by far superior. With the quality and ease of use, not to mention the quick and easy install – it’s a must-have!
Although we’ve started to reno a little bit down here as you can see from the walls, we haven’t really tackled it yet so we want to keep little ones out of the area. The Safety 1st Ready to Install gate has taken care of this for us. It’s now a non-issue, and it was really easy to install. My husband who isn’t the handiest, but is getting better, had it up within three minutes using a drill. It was quick and easy. If you don’t have a drill then it’s not going to be possible to attach the gate to the wall. Take a look at these recommended 12v cordless drills to find one that’s within your budget. A drill is always handy to have around!

I absolutely love this gate. It’s sturdy and not plastic like other common gates and with its one-hand operation and a swing-open door makes it easier to pass through, and the gate closes with just a push, letting you get on your way – which we all know is important when you are running a household full of kids!
This fully assembled gate installs easily with only a screwdriver in 15 minutes – half the time of a standard gate install. We used a drill and was ready within minutes. This gate you can open from either side and has metal panels to ensure a good sturdy fit.
The absolute best part of this gate? The Ready to Install Gate has the easiest install for a hardware gate. There’s no measuring, marking or need to level thanks to the innovative packaging.
