Keeping The Kids Protected During Summer Fun With Simply Protect Kids and Baby Lotion

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Banana Boat. As always, opinions are all mine.

With less than a week left for the kids at school summer is almost here! We are thrilled and have so much planned for the next two months, we just can’t wait to get the kids home to start our fun! One thing we don’t plan on this summer though is nursing a bad sunburn!
We’ve had amazing weather lately which means lots of time in the pool. During the warmer summer months it’s even more important to make sure we are incorporating the proper sunscreens into our daily routines. With the beautiful weather, and really hot sun we are outside a lot and want to make sure everyone in the family is protected properly. Banana Boat has us covered! The Simply Protect product line is new, and this line allows families to choose a Banana Boat sunscreen formula that best works for them.

We are planning to go camping this summer as well as a friend of mine is coming to visit. In between that fun we will be heading to the beach, lounging in the backyard and going in the pool! Limiting time in the sun is ideal, especially between the hours of 10am-2pm but sometimes that doesn’t happen so making sure you have the proper tools to protect skin is most important!

My kids sensitive skin is my top priority! As a kid I remember being outside all day every day until the street lights would go on and I’d always be burnt. It’s awful being little and dealing with the pain of a sunburn, especially at night! So, nipping it in the bud right away is ideal – Banana Boat has a sunscreen for everyone! This summer I’ll be toting around the Banana Boat Simply Protect Kids & Baby Lotions!

When looking for a sunscreen for your kids and baby what do you look for? I’m one who takes a while in the store reading all the labels, searching up on my phone what ingredients are in which sunscreen and what product would best protect the little ones in my family. Banana Boat Simply Protect Lotion and Spray is made with 25% fewer ingredients, including no parabens, oxybenzone or added fragrances and oils, and that the gentle, tear-free formula is made especially for kids.
The Banana Boat Simply Protect Kids and Baby sunscreens are perfect for little ones on the go. Its formula is mineral-based and water-resistant for 80 minutes. I don’t know about your kids, but mine love the water. Water balloons, the pool, the sprinklers and the beach. We can’t keep them out! Knowing that their skin is protected from the sun gives me peace of mind, and gives them time to play and enjoy their time outside! Simply reapply every 80 minutes, or immediately after  swimming, water fun, towel drying or sweating and they are good to go again!
When applying sunscreen be sure to apply a generous layer 15 minutes before sun exposure and before jumping into water. Also, be sure to consult your doctor before use on those 6 months old or younger.

I actually need to grab some sunscreen for Liam! This is perfect timing. I am going to try it!

This sounds like great stuff! I love that it lasts for 80 minutes, too. Kids are usually resistant to putting on sunscreen, so the less often you have to do it, the better!

I’m obsessive about applying sunscreen and Banana Boat is such a great and reliable brand. Good to know they make special versions for kids and babies!

Sunscreen is so important. My first son let me put it all over him, my second…not so easy…he must do it. At least it gets done.

I have sensitive skin myself. Sometimes I will pick up kids sunscreens I find them gentler on my sensitive skin.

I love this brand and need to get more for my younger two. It’s important to make sure kids are protected from sunburn for sure!

Kids are always against sunscreen ugh! lol This is a great brand I have used through the years, seems to stay on longer and have good coverage

  • Reply Scott June 25, 2018 at 6:51 pm

We used this brand on our kids when they were very young. Now that they’re older, we use the adult products!

I love this sunscreen. The kids look forward to being outside and using this. The 80 minutes seems to be just long enough

Sunscreen is so important to wear, even during other times of the year. Since kids are outside for longer during nice weather it’s important this lasts 80 minutes and is water resistant.

I always reach for my sunscreen before we head to the pool or outdoor play, We are an African American family and know that are darker skin only provides limited protection.

I live on sunscreen in the summer! So important to protect ourselves and our children!

  • Reply Marie Altenor June 26, 2018 at 10:39 pm

I love this. I use it on my baby. He doesn’t mind the smell like the one i used before. He sits tight and let me rub it on him.

I’m so glad you are raising awareness about the importance of using sunscreen on kids. So many parents let kids go out in the sun unprotected.

Sunscreen is so important in the summer months! I am a redhead and so are two of my kids, so we definitely go through a lot of it!
