Tips For Staying Confident This Holiday Season and Being Mistletoe Ready #SchickSavvy

Confidence: “a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.”

During the holidays the last thing you need to worry about is being ready for what ever comes up. Last minute guests dropping by, a forgotten invite to a holiday party you just can’t miss. Whatever it may be, you want to be feeling and looking your best.

Confidence is something I have struggled with a lot in my life. I’ve shied away from parties, get togethers, small and large gatherings and also events because often if it isn’t my nerves taking over it’s my confidence, or lack there of.

The last few years that has been changing. I have felt more of a confidence, and I’m not sure if thats just because of the place I’m at in my life, or if its because I’m getting older — but truth be told; it’s restricting. When you don’t feel confident in your own skin, or your clothes, or your life it takes a big toll on you and the things and experiences you get to have. I totally understand why some people go and have cellulite treatment or boob jobs just because they want to feel confident in their own skin and I don’t blame them. Feeling down about your appearance is exhausting.

I was tired of it. I made some changes, and I realized once my girls hit a certain age that how I was feeling was very noticeable and my girls were going to start noticing if they haven’t already. So, I had to take control and change how I was perceiving things and feeling. The first step to that was feeling confident in my body.

I have 7 kids — so let’s be real here for a minute, my body just isn’t what it used to be and while I do miss what it once was, my body is now a reflection of my failed and my accomplished pregnancies. It’s a reflection of the 7 amazing children I’ve given birth to. So what if I’m not a size 4 anymore, or my tummy may still be a little on the larger side, It is what it is. I am who I am, and while I still work to get my body back to a size I am happy with, for now I am comfortable and confident in who I am, and what my story is to rock my body.

Clothes are a whole other issue, I can’t seem to find anything that fits anymore. XL is too big, L seems to fall off legging-wise (its all I wear these days) and shirts — well it depends when Hanna nursed last how they fit! One thing I can control right now, even if its not the size of pants I’ll fit in today (thanks breastfeeding!) is whats under my pants! Oh, you silly! I don’t mean anything like that. Tisk Tisk.

I mean my legs, and body. I can control how soft, and smooth they are! In the summer I was able to get out of my comfort zone and wear maxi dresses for the first time to be comfortable in my pregnancy, and now? What if I want to wear a dress or skirt to a holiday party! I’m covered, because Schick has got me covered!
