Since we just moved to our new house at the end of July things have been a little bit different. Justin who used to refuse to sleep in his own bed and would sleep at the bottom of mine is now in his room with his brothers. Now normally this wouldn’t be an issue but having 3 boys ages 3, 6 and 8 in a room together just spells disaster, or so you’d think!
I received the Vtech Wi-Fi Pan & Tilt HD Video Monitor for review so I was anxious to get it set up when we moved. The boys had really been doing great at night and the first few nights that we were in our new house Justin would often come out of his room, come into my room and ask for tv, or if he could sleep at the bottom of our bed – but for the most part did really well. I did want to keep a close watch though just to make sure that was all he was doing. We pointed the camera directly at their beds, not in the play area – so we could see them at night specifically.
Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of the parent monitor unit that comes with the monitor for nighttime. During the day it gives a great photo but at night you really couldn’t see much of anything, even with the boy’s tv on or a night light. Thankfully, with this specific monitor, you can download the app and keep watch on your phone. I find the quality of video on the phone much better than on the parent unit, and just keep watch on my phone now.

Easily pan, tilt and zoom the camera by swiping and pinching the screen on the parent unit, your smartphone or tablet. It’s easy to use, set up and Have comfort and peace of mind while you’re away. The camera automatically starts recording and saves a clip any time it senses motion to the camera’s SD card (sold separately).
If you are like me and like keeping an eye on your littles this camera does it job. I have no problems checking in on them with my phone. You can’t have the parent unit on and check on the phone or check on two phones at once, it will only allow you to have one on at any given time. This gives me peace of mind knowing that no one can access our wi-fi and access our camera, I know a lot of others feel the same way, so this is great to know.
