YMCA Healthy Kids Day in The GTA #HealthyKidsDay #YMCAGTA

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As always, opinions are all mine.

As parents, we always want what’s best for our children, right? We want to make sure we are spending as much quality time with our kids as possible, making sure they are eating right, getting the most exercise they need and living a happy and fulfilled life. As parents, we try to make sure we are doing all these things all of the time. We also want to make sure we are living in healthy communities that our kids can be happy and grow up in which means participating in building those healthy communities.

Kids need tons of physical activity: it sets them up for a lifetime of good health and decreases risk for countless diseases and conditions (and helps them burn off their seemingly endless energy).  Healthy Kids Day is coming up – April 29th, 2018!

This YMCA celebration was built to help families get active together and introduce them to the endless array of fun stuff they can do to get those crucial sixty minutes of daily exercise. With organized activities for the whole family participating in your local YMCA Healthy Kids Day events will give the family something to do together, and you’ll meet others in the community! The YMCA is the place for families and community members to gather, have fun and connect with each other and to provide healthy, engaging and memorable experiences during YMCA Healthy Kids Day events.

This year, the YMCA GTA is celebrating Healthy Kids Day by opening their doors and welcoming kids, youth, and families to join them for an afternoon filled with fun, FREE activities. If you like what you see, they’ll waive your join fee! Get your Y membership while you’re there enjoying all of these free activities!

Centre Specific Information:

If you are looking for something to do to get the kids going and enjoy some time in your local community. Drop by your local Y after 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 29 to enjoy everything they have to offer.

I love the YMCA! They have so many different things for adults and children to burn off energy and to get healthy. I do not know they had a deal like this. I’m gonna check my local YMCA and see if they offered here too.

Yes kids do need to get out and get more of a work out. Send them out to play and run around. Let them be kids. The key is to get out with the kids as well and run around.

I love the YMCA! They offer so much activities for the kiddos in my state while keeping them active. Such a great program to be apart of.

So fun! We have a YMCA nearby that I need to look into. My daughter actually goes to different YMCA summer camps near my mother’s house and loves them.

As a teen I swam competitively at the Y in our area. There were a lot of other things to do there a well, we always had fun.

I loved our local Y. We spent so many memorable summers there. The previous owner passed and his wife and family chose to sell the building. A few years ago, it was sold and turned into a private preschool. I wish we had a local Y as that’s where my husband and I learned to swim as kids and so did our kids when they were little

I love that they encourage kids to live a healthier and active lifestyle. It’s definitely something that parents should consider taking their kids to. Love that there are free activities as well!

I used to go to YMCA when I was younger. I would love to find one locally that my girls could go to.

I would love to go to the Y again. I always had a good time there with the kids.

With obesity in kids becoming an issue, encouraging them to live a healthy lifestyle is crucial. I am always on my kids heels with this.

An afternoon full of fun and activities will definitely make any child happy! I think it’s worth going to especially since the kids will enjoy this very much! I love it!

The kids go to the Y in the summer because it helps them to connect with kids, they have so many fun things to do as well. And it gives me a little break when I need to do some work, as a SAHM, it’s sometimes hard to fit in everything I need to do when the kids are home.

Thank you for sharing this. I’m such a homebody and so is my son, but we both need to get back at it. He does Karate so he’s more active than I am. BUT I could definitely get back in a local YMCA.

I think my local YMCA is having this program here too (in NY). My kids are on a swim team, so they practice 3x a week for one hour. They also take other sports, so we stay busy. Being active is so important!

I think it is a great idea to unplug and go to the YMCA! Kids nowadays don’t go outside and play enough.
